About me and HerpQuest
My name is John Michael Mason. I am a graduate of Bishop Chatard High School and Indiana University Bloomington. I was a member of Hoosier Herpetological Society for years prior to college and recently rejoined earlier in 2025. I experienced homeless after trying to live in another state unsuccessfully and having to come back to Indiana. Since then, I have lived on my own successfully for approximately three years after moving out of a group home. I had a pet Crested Gecko and a White’s Dumpy Tree Frog and the gecko lived for around 10 years. From this experience, I have learned a lot about taking care of reptiles and amphibians from feeding them to exercise. I recently became an author from a book I published in 2024 that I wrote in the fourth grade for five years nonstop. It is a best-seller in young adult travel and adventure category on Amazon.
HerpQuest is an organization that has three things offered: A book series (part 1 is out called “John Michael’s Herpetology Adventures”), merchandise (sold at events only), and pet-sitting. I am the co-founder and CEO of HerpQuest. Visit @HerpQuest on YouTube and Instagram to see the content I post.
